I smell a diploma

by

Greeting, IMC friends! As I put the finishing touches on my final project (it goes in the mail tomorrow morning!), I wanted to take a moment to write you one last farewell post. I’ve been emotional all week, and have shared many “mental breakdown moments” with my fellow classmates in Campaigns. But I know that all of our hard work will be worth it this Sunday as we each walk across that stage.

This program has been such a wonderful experience for me, and it will be bittersweet to finally let it go. But, I’m not going to lie – the prospect of having more family time and a social life again is pretty enticing. As for the rest of my post-graduate plans, I’m looking forward to being able to concentrate on my new job, as there is a lot I am still learning. But before that, my husband and I plan to do a little celebrating with a trip to St. Lucia. This time next week, I will be here:

Along with my classmates, one of the things that I’m going to miss the most about the IMC program is learning about emerging media and technology and how it all fits into IMC. I’m going to try my best to continue educating myself as a “non-degree-seeking student.” Speaking of, how many of you will be attending INTEGRATE with me in a few weeks? There are so many breakout sessions I want to attend that I’m having a hard time narrowing it down.

Good luck to the future IMC bloggers (yes, plural). I understand that next semester there will be multiple IMC bloggers—a fabulous idea! Now you will have even more insight into life as an IMC student. And best of luck to all the current and future IMC students (and my graduating friends!) 😀

Thanks, Flavia! It was great to meet you, too. If you ever come back for an Integrate conference let me know and we’ll get together!

    Hey Stacy,

Congrats and enjoy that beach! I enjoyed working with you in a couple of IMC classes and look forward to meeting you in person next month at Integrate.

I’m one of three student bloggers taking over in the next week or so…you clearly left some big shoes to fill 🙂

    Hi Barry!

Good luck this semester in class and with the blog. I think having three bloggers will make it much easier on all of you. I know there were several weeks this last semester where I wanted to spend more time writing the blog but just had no time to devote to it. I can’t wait to read yours!

    Stacy
